Our boat excursions leave practically daily from the beach of Cala Jondal in the South of Ibiza. We will anchor in Espalmador, a small private island, wild and uninhabited, where there are only two small buildings. It is a true paradise with crystal-clear waters and fine white sand with a characteristic pinkish color of coral remains that has remained virgin thanks to its isolation.
In the center of Espalmador there is a bay of calm waters, which since ancient times has been used as a natural port and docking area. In the interior there are beautiful fields of dunes and pine and juniper forests. One of the delights of this excursion to Formentera are the mud baths in Espalmador, and they are also very fun. Right in the center of this small island there is a space to take the popular natural mud baths. From the northern end of Platja de s’Alga there is a winding path between pine forests and some palm trees that leads to a salt flat.
Inside, people have made small natural jacuzzis of liquid mud, where you can enjoy the experience of floating in the mud. The process is simple, stir the bottom a little so that the mud mixes with the saline water, until it acquires a liquid consistency, and all that remains is to get inside and smear it up to your ears.
Although it has no recognized therapeutic benefits, on a sunny day, there is nothing more beneficial than rolling around and smearing yourself with fresh mud. Let it dry while you walk back to the beach and when it is dry, rub it off to create a natural peel. Finally, put yourself in the water to come out very clean, you will see how soft the skin is. Our catamaran excursion continues to Formentera, to the beaches of Ses Illetes, the Mediterranean paradise. Ses Illetes is a group of small islands, which have been joined together by a narrow tongue of sand, creating small coves. In Illetes you have the sea on both sides, its waters are crystal clear and the sands are white with tiny pink tones, the result of the erosion of the corals.
The sea is full of meadows of poseidonea, an aquatic plant that makes the water so clean. The bottom decreases very slowly and you can enter the sea without fear since it is always calm, if not on the west side, then on the east side. The beaches of Illetas are a quiet place since access is complicated if not by boat, and people naturally practice nudism.
In Illetas we find the best beach bars in Formentera, emblematic places such as Es Ministre, Juan y Andrea, El Molí de la Sal, Beso Beach or El Tiburón, where we can go down to eat good rice and taste a sangria or a mojito.
